WhitePages – for finding people/adding them to my contacts
Night Stand – large digital clock; easy to see at night
Facebook
WordPress – for posting to my WordPress blog
Wikipanion – for looking things up in the Wikipedia; faster than using Safari
Calendar – default
Settings – default
EasyWriter – flips keyboard around sideways so that it is easier to type
Google App – voice search; access to my Google tools

Screen 2:
Geocaching
iGeocacher
iGCT – for offset cache calculations
GeoHash – random locations each day; flashmob idea
Trailguru – GPS; recording tracks
TrackThing – GPS; recording tracks
CarFinder – set a location so that you can get back to your car
GPS Tracker – used with InstaMapper web site to track your location real time
Google Earth
SearchQuest – GPS; search for many different things (e.g., contact, restaurants) and use the GPS to get to them
earthscape – similar to Google Earth; allows you to post geotagged audio and images
AroundMe – finds all kinds of things around you (e.g. restaurants, stores)
GrandeGetter – nearest Starbucks
WiseEmail – emails your lat/long coordinates

Wi-Fi Finder – locating wireless networks
Hotspots – keep track of your favorite locations; can add notes/images
YouTube – default
i.TV – television information
iWant – finds all kinds of things around you (e.g. restaurants, stores)
PhoneFlix – for managing NetFlix account
Tomatoes – Rotten Tomatoes movie reviews

Flixster – same as above; I prefer this one
midomi – hum, sing, or say the words of a song; song is identified and you can even click and purchase many of them from iTunes (with a wireless connection)

Nice app for all kinds of info on the periodic table. Every element has a link to wikipedia for more info. I paid for the full version which is more robust and includes info on amino acids.

…that of those of you responding to the ITSC 2009 pre-session survey, about a quarter of you own iPhones and a quarter of you own iPod Touch devices.

During the Play. Share. Have fun with the iPhone/iTouch session at ITSC, we will have access to iPod Touch devices from Apple. They will be preloaded with some of the software that we will be discussing. If you have your own device, please feel free to download the free software in advance of Monday’s session so that you can use your own device. The list is below; any updates between now and Monday will be added to this blog.

I’m using the GPS Tracker app on an iTouch and my Instamapper account so that you can see where I am (mobile viewers).

Oh, and no, the iPod Touch doesn’t have a GPS, but if you’re online, you can be found. :-)
